3 Years

Its amazing but its already been 3 years since Jay and I signed the papers to legalize our "partnership" in the state of Connecticut. Now, Sept 25 2006 was a date picked out of thin air, not because we didn't care, but because more over we wanted to make sure that as we remodeled the house, I was part of the equation. So that got us to put on jeans and black t-shirts (we didn't plan to look like twins) and go to our friends house, who is a Justice of the Peace, and have it done. It was over in less than 2 minutes. Jason...Blah blah blah...I do. Nate...blah blah blah.... I do. Done. But this date is not the date we choose to celebrate as it wasn't done in the sense we'd choose to really get married. By the way, October 10, 2010, all Civil Unions in Connecticut will automatically transform into marriages. Our 5th Year Anniversary since the day we met, our REAL anniversary, will happen on 11/03. Time sure does fly!

Fall in Connecticut

Well, when we drove in the driveway and got out of the car, all you could smell was the crisp fall air and could hear the sound of leaves crunching under your feet. Its Fall in the Northeast. Never thought it would come so soon. Thank god we were able to extend our summer (if you count this year as having a summer) in Captiva with real sun, real pool time and real good fun. So now we are home, time to go shopping and re-fill the fridge and cupboards. Thank you again to Auntie Tina for house sitting and watching the pups. Without her, we would have been up sh*ts creek without a paddle this go 'round.

Time to Say Goodbye

Last Day - 12 hours left. Flight leaves Ft Myers at 8:20pm. Will be arriving in White Plains around 11pm. Will be in our own bed by midnight. Its been a great trip of fun, laughs and relaxation. A true extension of our summer.... or wait, maybe this was our summer. Either way, fantastic trip.

Scoops

The Ice Cream Store on the island is busy from open to close. Malts, Milkshakes, Sundaes and Cones, Candy... even pizza. We have visited this favorite spot at least 4 times so far. Its set in the 1950's fountain shop era.


Our goal is to get the Gut Buster before we leave. Its a pail of ice cream meant for 4 - 6 people to share. This time, just Patty and I are wanting to tackle it. We LOVE ice cream. So look for that in the next few days before we have to leave. Worth every penny!!!!!

Friends Galore

We have tons of new friends down here. They hang out whenever and whereever they want.

Bingo by the Pool

Every year, we have our Bingo by the Pool. The entire complex, which ranges from 25 to 50 people annually, comes down with a dish to pass and to enjoy a few games of Bingo. Each card you buy is $5 so the winnings can be $25 to $100!

No winners this year from our clan but there is always next year.

First Sunset

While going to dinner Wednesday night at the Old Captiva House between Sanibel & Captiva, we timed it right to view the sunset directly over the Gulf. Its been quite awhile since our group was able to catch one. But since a quick storm blew in about 6pm, it cleared the skies and left some great clouds as contrast.

Cabbage Key is the place to be for lunch.

Puppy Cake

On my friends website My Looney Pets there was a featured treat for the dogs I couldn't help but look into. Puppy Cake.

Now, anytime that I am baking cookies, or any kind of human treat, the dogs go nuts waiting for something to fall from the counter and hit the floor. So for someone to find a niche in the market like this, is pure brilliance. And the site and marketing and packaging is really good. So I have a note for me to buy some when I get back from vacation and let the dogs test it out.

Today was a big day for KC & Ace. Finally after 4 months, they were able to get their hair done, oh I mean groomed. They aren't the biggest fans of going to Four Paws here in town, but they know Cindy means business and she doesn't mess around. Get in and get out, or at least sit there and wait for one of your dads to come pick you up.
