This Year vs Last Year

Funny how a year has passed already being on Meadow Lane. This time last year if you go back and look, and we will confirm, everyday there was work being done here! This year, well... nothing changes. Still doing things that we know should be done but much less in stress in being under the gun to move in :).
Task 1 - Cutting down bad branches - which is ironic since so many have already fallen after the Hurricane and Blizzard last year. The tree outside the garage had branches over hanging the patio and garage room. Makes a mess with the leaves and flowering. Also, the side you can't see if on Wakeman Hill on the other side of the fence. We took down all the branches that hang over the fence, and all the way down the line of the property and beyond the backyard dogs fence too. Definitely Spring Cleanup!

New Fencing!

Good bye old chicken wire and green animal fencing and hello new solid picket fencing! This will help keep the dogs in the backyard obviously, but it also won't let them see any people or other animals that may be out on the street that can cause them to get over excited and disturb anyone. It also matches the existing fence that lines Wakeman Hill. And luckily, Jasen planned in 2 pieces to be split for doors to get the tractor in and out to mow the lawn. Last year it was all by hand. Hello to saving time and less back ache! Nice job Jasen! ** Again, was done while I was away!!!!**

Patio Completed

Now that I am back from Chicago and all the work and cleanup is done, I wanted to show off Jasen's handywork and what he was able to get done while I was away! The back patio looks fantastic and better than I could have imagined! Who knew walking on a flat surface and not worrying about twisting your ankle could feel so nice! And these guys do great work! So here are the pictures I was able to get and I think I got them in the right order from "In Progress" to "Complete."

Macen's Mess

One of the chairs is missing a pillow. Someone cannot be trusted anymore. Someone needs to be crated while we are out. I wonder why....

Back Patio Refresh - Day 1

We cannot take credit for this nice handy work. Our mason who did all the work at the Cottage was able to help out here too. We can't wait to see the stone set and actually level and even, without slants or cracks or divets! Even repairing the 60+ year old stairs! More to come!
