Happy Father's Day

Isn't it funny that when in elementary school and Father's Day was around the corner, we made these types of things to represent our fathers..... homemade cards with a tie on it, ashtrays made with crappy pottery using a 1000 degree kiln oven, and we all know the infamous wallet is the number 1 purchase. I know that my dad never wore a tie unless it was a wedding that he was in, or a funeral. And who knew that art class would be pro-smoking at the age of 10! And well, I bet Dad's around the world have a secret stash of wallets since we know they never-ever change them out. None the less.... to all the Dad's out there!

Flag Day

It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.[1] The United States Army also celebrates the Army Birthday on this date; Congress adopted "the American continental army" after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.[2][3]

Light a candle

Our friend Jackie, and her husband Aaron who is currently in Afghanistan, passed on the news that one of Aaron's men was wounded at one of the bases, transported to Germany for better care and to meet up with his family.  Thankfully, his family did make it to his side before he passed away to speak to him for the last time. It is always sad to hear that one of our soldiers the Armed Forces has lost their life in the protection of our country and for the beliefs of having freedom around the world. Please remember to light a candle in their memory and to remember those who are still fighting for us outside of the US.
