Favorite View

Finished built-in, carpet, looking into the dining room.... now just to get our comfy furniture in there and relax.

Feels like home with Carpet

Bushes no more

If you remember, there were massive bushes covering the lower level of the house and blocked the view of the house from the road and most importantly, from the inside looking to the road.

Half Bath done right.

The jack of all trades (a.k.a Chris and Lindsey) also put in a new floor in the half bath. New paint on walls and cupboard, new toilet and BAM. Pretty.(First two pics are work in progress.Last two are finished products.)

Afters of Studio

A touch of paint... actually, a LOT of paint on the cupboards and walls now has a nice crisp look to the office.

Kitchen UPDATE

The Appliances, Granite countertop and sink are IN!!! Only the over-the-range microwave needs to be installed and some lower cabinets. Almost there!!!

Come on In

Sadly, the one place we haven't shown yet was the front door... well, from inside the house. Welcome to the Foyer! All paneling (feels like home), curved staircase upstairs, doors leading to the studio, living room, dining room and the half bath. It has 3 unique features : lanterns for lighting, and the cool 4 slot window & door. We don't plan on changing anything except the light bulbs. But love love love all the knotty wood. - Mom will too :)

Earth Hour

On Saturday,  March 26, you can live in darkness and solidarity fort an hour. From  8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  it’s Earth Hour  the annual attempt to get people to think about energy conservation and global warming by having them turn off their non-essential lights for an hour.
Earth Hour began in 2007 in one place _ Sydney, Australia. This year, there will be people in 131 countries participating. But its sponsors, including the World Widlife Fund, are now pushing people to think Beyond the Hour to find ways to conserve energy andon a year-round basis.
Just live on candle power for an hour. But if you want to read about the event  _ it’s history and what people are doing this year _ go to its website at www.earthhour.org

Stu, Stu, Studio - Before

I am not sure what kind of thinking color specialists back in the 60's used when determining "hip" colors to splash on walls... but this one was NOT it.

BEFORE : A lovely dijon mustard combined with crushed Frito chips and topped with icing. And who said 2 different kinds of color and flowery wall paper doesn't make the room? Crazy!

Spare Bedrooms Updated

Both upstairs bedrooms got a mini face lift with some paint. Pink to Ivory Brown in the larger bedroom. And then you probably can't tell, but from a purply-blue to a baby blue in the smaller bedroom. The key is to look at the heat registers on the floor as they went from that purply-blue to white trim in color. :P (hey, it was a free can of paint I had laying around at The Rocks and saved $25!)

UPDATE : BYE BYE BUILT IN

Chris and Lindsey were able to help with a mighty hand, and hammer, to take down the wall between the living room and dining room. Oh what progress... and difference. Loving the beams! Next... paint and stain.
