I don't know, but I take a look at the house now and after every little project and see improvements. So I thought I would take a few snaps of what I think looks different.

Walk your way in...
Last weekend, we took some time to rip up the old slate walkway to the front door, and replace it with pebbled stone and lay full slate pieces length-wise to clean up the entrance. We also dumped the same stone along the back of the garage, near the basement doors to reduce the muddy areas, as grass doesn't grow there. Looks so much better. Glad Jay decided to add that to the list.

Stump Stump No More
I still have to thank Lindsey first and foremost for starting this project with me back in March... yes, MARCH!
However, today we've made leaps and bounds with the last stump being removed and the area being graded with nice earth, adding a rock wall for support and finally getting it ready for stoning. Will look much better over the next 10-12 days. Stay tuned, but thank god the stumps are gone. One last reminder of what used to be....

The roof, the roof, the roof is all new!!!!!
Thanks to Jay and his skills at finding a great deal and guys who do fantastic work, two days of work later, we have a new roof. The existing leaks are now sealed, no more need for drip buckets in the attic, no more need to have a ladder handy... here are some construction shots... oh, and before there were big old roof shakes, and now nice new architectural shingles to match whats already on the back.
The Garage |
We even had to replace the original shakes from the side of the house. From faded gray to original gray they go! |
I think a quarter would have bounced out of here if we tried to put it in the dumpster!! |
No more leaks. Copper used to block all water and protect the valley from any further leaks! |
