Fool me once, shame on me...

Well, Saturday's weather turned out to be okay. By okay, I mean it actually didn't rain. Not one drop at least in Danbury. Now, sad to say, I am a weather.com/Weather Channel junkie and kept checking the weather. It never changed. Chance of t-storms from 3pm through the night. With that said, I told Jay "Its gonna rain!" so we opted out of taking the boat out to watch the fireworks on the lake. It turned out to be a great show and we learned that our front rock is the best seat for them. If we don't have the boat next year... you'll find us there. So, I felt bad that it never rained. But who would have thought that after 21 days of rain, that the one day we didn't want it to rain, that Mother Nature would be on our side? Yeah... ME TOO! Oh well, there's always next year.

Does this look like a good day for Fireworks over the Lake?
Time will tell.

Ace Recovering

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Ace. He made it through surgery with flying colors. He was alittle drowsy when I picked him up still but he was excited to get out of dodge!!! They removed the cancerous lump and sent it for biopsy, and while he was under, decided to give him a dental cleaning (boy did he need it) and in the process, noticed one tooth was rotten so it was removed. They also removed a lump under his chin, but found it to be just a growth. Overall, we are very happy he's back at home and so is he. And he hasn't lost his appetite, that's for sure!!!! Thanks again!

Pray for Ace

Today is Ace's Surgery Day to remove the cancer he has in his mouth. We pray that our Vet has the ability to remove it successfully without any further damage to Ace. Please keep Ace in your thoughts through today. Thanks!

Day 14

Yesterday, we got lucky. But, it technically was not a day without rain. Friday, June 19th had rain early in the morning around 2am - 5am. And today.... look what's coming in the next few hours.
Mother Nature.... this better be you getting rid of all the rain for the whole summer now in June and leaving July - September dry as a bone. As Brian put it yesterday, we should look into buying snowmobiles and we'll probably have no snow this winter.

Beware of Zicam

I used to be a firm believer in the use of over the counter cold remedy ZICAM.
Well, its being pulled from shelves by the FDA as its being claimed you can lose your sense of smell. The bad bad lawyers are already out there looking out for you, the consumer... check it out.

6th Day of Rain

Could the weather get anymore depressing for the second week of the un-official start of summer?
Dear Mother Nature.... TURN IT OFF!!!!! We are hoping for a good weekend but its not looking so promising either. I guess that's what we get for buying a boat! Should have known!!!!!

First Afternoon on the Water

Saturday was our first real afternoon on the boat. The morning looked gray but around noon, the sun and the heat were upon the area. Perfect temps and the waves were calling. Got a few shots from the boat using my cell-camera. Going to have to take the real one for better / close up shots.

And just before returning to the dock, we got a shot of the sun, setting behind the mountains. A great end to a great afternoon. We hope everyone can come out sometime and join us!!!!

Its Time Again...

...to defend Pepsi and the "Patriotic Can" rumor. Well, its not true.
If you get an email or a text message (which I think this is the first year that has happened), please ignore the message. Or, if you wish, reply back telling the sender to look up "pepsi undergod" at www.snopes.com and they too can learn the truth over what Pepsi printed and who actually printed what on their cans.

Passed the Test

Well, Jay and I sat through the 9 hour Connecticut Safe Boating Course yesterday to obtain our certification. Got there at 7:45am and finally got back in the car at 5:00pm exactly. LONG DAY, but well worth it. This allows us to go to the DEP office and apply for our boating license. One step closer to finally getting out on the boat. Jay will be able to run to the DEP office on Tuesday, which means he should be able to take it out on Wednesday for some practice runs with the staff at the marina. Practice makes perfect!!! We will keep you posted.
