Happy Anniversary!!!!
5 Years has gone by so fast! 9/25/2006 - Feels like yesterday that we made the commitment for richer or poorer, for better or worse. And no matter the scenario, knowing that I wake up and fall asleep with you as my partner, its the best part of living. Together we can tackle it all.... and we will. I LOVE YOU JASON! Happy Anniversary!

Congrats to Lindsey & Chris!
You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes, to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car, or over a meal, or when hammering a nail, or laying some tile….
All those sentences that began with “When we’re married” and continued with “I will” and “you will” and “we will”. Those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe” — and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding.
The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things we’ve discussed and promised and hoped and dreamed — well, I meant it all, every single word.”
So, look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another — acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, teacher, apprentice.... For you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you.
For after these vows, you shall say to the world, "this is my husband", "this is my wife."

Remember when....
10 years is a long time but not when thinking of this day, it comes back very easily. Remembering exactly where I was (at my desk), when it was I heard the news, the initial questions about the first plane being an accident, local coworkers who had friends and family in the WTC, phone calls coming in, phone calls not being able to be made, trying to organize work plans across the country, validating our coworkers were where they should be.... and realizing that the work itself was no longer the priority. It was about the people. The world seemed to stop around me as we all migrated to a TV, radio, as trying to get online was impossible. As we continued to watch in horror, we gathered together as a Pepsi Family. As the day moved on, we were told to go home. And we did and watched on TV as the rest of America did. As they say, the rest is history.
So now I sit and reflect while watching multiple news stories, memorial scenes and think that someone who was only 10 years old at the time is now 20? Amazing. Yet here I sit today and it feels like just 1 year ago... if that. We continue to think of all those who were on those flights, their families, the first responders, firefighters, police officers, and office workers & laborers. God Bless You. God Bless America.

Labor Day
The first Monday of September - what used to be the sign of the end of Summer, the day before the return to schools (in NY at least).... and now... a thankful day to have off and stay at home. Even if I only get one extra hour of sleep, its worth it!!!!
Other odd facts about Labor Day :
1. Oregon was the first state to make it an official holiday in 1887.
2. Federal Holiday in 1894.
3. The date of Labor Day was chosen by the CLU (Civil Labor Union) of NY
4. In "high society", it is also looked at as the last day women should wear white.
5. Marks the start of the NFL season, while NCAA started 1 week earlier
Enjoy your Day you Laborers of the States!
Thank you to those who will work today!

Let there be light!!!!!
Woohooo. Around 8:30pm last night, the power was restored to our area. We weren't home at the time but our neighbor gave us a call to let us know. Boy were we excited to race home. However, the road still has lingering trees along the side and we continue to drive over the downed power lines to get up the hill. Obviously there is still alot of clean up work that they have to do. Hope the weather holds out for the guys as they continue to get people back on the grid.

NY vs CT
No matter which side we chose, this is what we met after Irene.
This is the CT side going down Wakeman just below our property line. As of today, trees are pushed aside, and wires still remain on the ground.
And the NY Side about 1 mile up Wakeman. This is now removed and surprised the wires held it all up.
