Labor Day

The first Monday of September - what used to be the sign of the end of Summer, the day before the return to schools (in NY at least).... and now... a thankful day to have off and stay at home. Even if I only get one extra hour of sleep, its worth it!!!!

Other odd facts about Labor Day :

1. Oregon was the first state to make it an official holiday in 1887.
2. Federal Holiday in 1894.
3. The date of Labor Day was chosen by the CLU (Civil Labor Union) of NY
4. In "high society", it is also looked at as the last day women should wear white.
5. Marks the start of the NFL season, while NCAA started 1 week earlier

Enjoy your Day you Laborers of the States!
Thank you to those who will work today!
