Memorial Thank You

In Memory of all those who came before us and those who were once with us but gave their lives for us.

While in St.Peter's Cemetery recently, we found a headstone 3/4 covered by grass and weeds. We removed the access to expose the entire piece of white marble.You can see the difference between brownish-white and white to see what was visible. 

None the less, its amazing what you can uncover from the past.

SGT Lawrence J Manning served in the first World War, under the C9E 14th Engineers but sadly died 2/13/1931, at the age of 43.

Thank You to Lawrence and to all who served and continue to protect us today.

Day 4 - Mission Accomplished

Its finally blue but its been raining a lot so trying to get really nice pictures of the clean, crystal blue water is almost impossible. Let's just hope all this rain is making its way through now for a hot sunny weekend!!!!

Now just time to vacuum and get the pool timer running and we are ready for cocktails!

Mission : Get Blue - Day 3

Whalla! 

1 more bag of earth and 4 more bottles of shock!! But worth it. 

We guess 2 more days and we will be crystal blue and ready .

Next, start getting the vacuum in to scrub it clean for the weekend!

Mission : Get Blue - Day 2

A little bit of diatomaceous earth, a smidge of shock.... oh who am I kidding.

 1 bag of earth went in easily. 4 bottles of shock gone. Do your thing chemicals.

Luckily, there wasn't much debris to remove from the top so the filter wasn't working too hard.

Opening Day - Finally!!!!

A few days ago, we finally took the cover off. Easy.

But then it was getting after what we saw underneath. Not so easy.

But.... definitely better than what we expected to find.

Saturday Project

We wanted to switch out the front light post since moving in. It was old, crooked, and well, didn't look fixable. Jay thought that we could use treated round posts at the end of both sides of the driveway to replace the light post and add more character and charm to the front of the house. Once we had the holes dug, Jay changed out the electrical and put in a junction box (safety first) we had power back to the light. 

Next to find some plantings to fill in the new beds.
